The best time to visit Punta Cana

Punta Cana enjoys a tropical climate throughout the year, with average temperatures between 26°C and 31°C. There is no bad time to travel, but some months suit each type of traveler better.

From December to April, the weather is driest and most stable. This is the high season and an ideal time for full-day excursions such as Saona Island. Hotel prices are usually higher, so booking tours in advance is recommended.

From May to November, rain showers are usually brief and arrive in the afternoon, while the sea remains warm. This is often a good time to find lower rates and smaller groups on excursions such as catamaran trips, buggies, or Scape Park.

Our advice is to schedule water excursions during the first days of your trip. If the weather changes, you will have time to reschedule without missing the experience.
